When You’re Carrying Tomorrow Today

A new week has a way of making me want to figure everything out before it has even happened.

I can rehearse conversations that haven’t taken place.
I can imagine problems that have not actually arrived.
I can mentally prepare for five different outcomes, just in case.

And if I am not careful, I can spend today carrying things God has not asked me to carry yet.

I know part of that comes from wanting to be prepared. I like plans. I like knowing what comes next. I like feeling as though I have thought through every possibility.

But there is a line between being prepared and trying to control tomorrow.
I am still learning that God gives me grace for the day I am actually living.

Not for every scenario my mind can create.
Not for every possible conversation.
Not for every outcome I am afraid might happen.

For today.

That does not mean we ignore responsibility or refuse to plan. It means we stop asking ourselves to carry tomorrow before we get there.

So this prayer is for me this week:

Lord, help me trust You with what has not happened yet. Give me wisdom for what is mine to do today, and help me leave the rest in Your hands. Because whatever tomorrow holds, I do not have to meet it alone.

God will already be there.

Maybe you need that reminder too.
What are you carrying today that actually belongs to tomorrow?
