When You’re Waiting for Answers
Waiting can make one day feel like a hundred. I know that feeling.
There have been seasons in my life when I wanted answers immediately — medical answers, direction, clarity, some kind of assurance about what came next.
And when the answers didn’t come quickly, my mind could race far ahead of where I actually was.
What if this happens?
What if that changes?
What if I can’t handle what comes next?
But one of the things God has taught me, again and again, is that He rarely gives me strength for the entire journey all at once.
He gives me strength for today.
For the appointment in front of me.
The conversation I need to have.
The decision that actually needs to be made.
The next faithful step.
Not all the steps after that.
There were times during cancer when I wanted desperately to know how everything would turn out. I wanted to skip past the waiting, the uncertainty, and the fear and somehow arrive at the ending.
But I couldn’t.
I had to live the day I was actually in.
And God met me there. He still does.
So if you are waiting for answers today, facing a decision you never expected to make, or carrying news that has changed the landscape of your life, this prayer is for you.
You do not have to carry the entire journey today.
Ask God for what you need for this day.
Tomorrow will have its own grace.
Who comes to mind who might need this prayer today?
